The bf and I were grocery shopping the other day and spontaneously decided to make pizza at home. Both of us were hungry (pre-dinner time) and couldn’t wait to make the pizza dough so we cheated and used a pre-made pizza crust. We picked out tomato sauce, mushrooms, tomatoes, chicken spinach sausage (without casing), and mozzarella balls (my favorite). It turned out to be the perfect fast and easy dinner!
- Pizza crust (make your own dough or buy a pre-made one like we did – we opted for thin crust)
- Tomato sauce for pizza
- Mozzarella balls – I like this over shredded cheese because I like the extra cheesey-ness that the balls offer
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced button mushrooms
- Chicken and spinach sausage without casing
Prep your ingredients. Wash and cut the tomatoes and mushrooms and set them aside. Sprinkle salt on your tomatoes so it becomes less watery.
Slice the sausage and saute them in a frying pan.
Spread the tomato sauce onto the pizza crust.
Place your toppings in whatever order you want.
Bake in the oven for 8-10 mins. I placed the pizza directly on the oven rack. The drippings from the sauce fell onto the botton of the oven (drats) so I placed the oven tray beneath the pizza to catch the drippings.
