Recipe: Amazing Meatballs

This was my first time making meatballs! It was surprisingly easy. Here is my recipe:


  • 1 pound each of ground pork and ground beef (I used chuck)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup ground Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup chopped parsley
  • Minced garlic (3 cloves)
  • Splash of milk
  • Salt and pepper


  • Mix all the above ingredients together and form into meatballs.
  • In a heavy pot or Dutch oven pan pour half a cup of olive oil and heat on medium high.
  • Brown meatballs on all sides.
  • Rest them on paper towel when done.
  • In the same pot sauté onions, garlic, etc and make your sauce!
  • Put meatballs into the sauce / cook on simmer for 30 mins.

Lemon Angel Food Cake

I had like 10 lemons in my fridge and I didn’t want them to go bad so I made another batch of lemon bars (tried a new recipe here) and made lemon angel food cake courtesy of Ina Garten.  This was my first time making angel food cake and I truly grasped the importance of “folding the flour into the egg white mixture”. I think I folded the batter one too many times because the cake wasn’t as fluffy as I would’ve liked. There’s always a next time for improvement!
